The adventure…

Start this amazing adventure with a 15-minute drive on our jungle buses to the Caves Branch River where you will tube for 100 feet to the entrance of the cave system.
Once inside, you will alternate between tubing, climbing, and hiking underground as explore ancient Maya ceremonial centers, pottery, artifacts, altars, obsidian bloodletting blades, jade, and the actual footprints of the Shaman and priests that date back to 400 A.D.
Imagine the experience as you float through an underground cathedral, turning your lights off and floating away into time as your professional guide shares with you the history of the caves and the Maya world.
For lunch, your guides will prepare an underground riverside picnic spread complete with picnic blanket, tortillas with cold cuts, juice, and fresh fruits and vegetables. Eating your lunch by headlight, to the sounds of the underground caves while chatting with your fellow adventurers will be an experience you will not soon forget.
After making your way out of the cave on your innertube, you’ll spend some time enjoying being back in the sun, and take turns jumping off the cliff into the river (if you dare). After a short ride back to the lodge, you can take a dip in the pool or hot tub before dinner and swap stories of the day’s

unforgettable adventures.

“The River Cave Expedition was perfect for all of us – fun, challenging, and informative. We tubed into the cave, climbed in parts of the cave, saw bats and scorpion spiders, ooohed and aaahed over stalagmites and stalactites, and learned about how the Mayans used the caves for rituals. It really offered something for everyone.”
