Eco-tourism in Belize & Caves Branch Jungle Lodge

Tourism has come a long way since Thomas Cook first began printing railway timetables over a century ago. Today, tourism has involved to be much more than just traveling somewhere and staying at a hotel. Instead, tourism has evolved to become something more, a way for visitors to explore a new land in a sustainable and eco-friendly way.

At Caves Branch Jungle Lodge, we are firmly committed to sustainable tourism practices. Our jungle lodge is located in the heart of the pristine Belize jungle, and we fully understand that only by preserving and protecting this important natural heritage will the environment continue to thrive for generations to come.

As part of our commitment towards sustainable eco-tourism, we have partnered with a number of charitable organizations, including the Pack for a Purpose Program. Founded in 2009, Pack for a Purpose is an American non-profit organization that encourages travelers to use extra luggage space to bring in much-needed school and medical supplies for low-income and at-risk groups in countries like Belize.

Caves Branch Jungle Lodge is also proud to be the curator of the largest botanical gardens in the country with more orchids, epiphytes, and bromeliad plant species than anywhere else in Belize. The botanical gardens at the Caves Branch are much more than just a place for visitors to admire the natural beauty of Belize; they also serve as an important resource for scientists and conservationists.

Our Jungle Lodge also operates a number of eco-friendly tours. Founded more than 20 years ago by an adventure travel enthusiast, Caves Branch has, since the start, been dedicated to protecting the environment.

Popular eco-friendly tours offered by us include:

  • Nightime safaris to learn more about the 80% of jungle animals which are nocturnal;
  • Overnight jungle expeditions that include learning bushcraft skills;
  • Bird watching;
  • Trips to animal sanctuaries and rescue centers;
  • Zip lining through the jungle;
  • Cave tubing (using an inner tube or canoe to navigate underground rivers); and
  • Jungle hikes with experienced local bushmen to learn more about the plants and animals in the region.

Belize is a beautiful country with lots of pristine nature to explore. If you're interested in enjoying a sustainable and eco-friendly vacation in this natural paradise, contact Caves Branch Lodge at info@cavesbranch.com or by calling toll-free 1-866-357-2698.
